At Mid America Outdoors

About 100 miles northeast of Tulsa, Oklahoma is the small town of Jay. There, in this small town, you will find a big attraction that draws in racers, riders, spectators, and families of all sizes and ages from all across the nation.
Sitting on over 800 acres, MidAmerica Outdoors (MAO) plays host to an extensive trail system that seems to just keep growing every time you visit! MAO features fast winding wooded trails and hill climbs ranging from novice all the way to the extreme rider. But that’s not all. At MAO, you will also find a professional UTV short course track, mega truck arena, rock bouncer hill climbs, and a drag strip under the lights with a timing system. The accommodations of the park seemingly never end, which is why it is a must-see destination for any and all off road enthusiasts!
Upon arrival, you will first stop at the office, where waivers must be signed and fees must be paid. You’ll have the option to pay in cash or credit, so you won’t have to turn around to go make an ATM withdrawal at the last gas station you passed. Once you’re in the park, the campsites will be located to the right of the entrance. Each site has plenty of space for parking, setting up camp, and the best part, plenty of shade from tree coverage for those hot summer days. Additionally, more camping spots can be found located across the street from the entrance, if you really like your space to unwind. MAO also features 65 Standard and 12 large Deluxe RV sites with water and 20/30/50 AMP electrical hookups. Also available are some designated dry RV spots available to reserve; they may not have hookups, but are in prime locations for self-contained camper setups. A dump station is also on site that you may utilize before leaving the park. And since this is 2021, all sites come with WIFI connectivity, so you can share all the photos from your rides as soon as you’re back at camp.
For those not in an RV, there is a climate-controlled park bathhouse conveniently located in between the RV sites. Six trackside cabins and over 20 dry cabins, with more under construction, are available to rent as well. Each cabin includes WiFi, A/C, and a TV. There are even more lodging options that can be found online. With admission, all park guests have unlimited access to the shower house, as well as the washing stations for your machine.
If grilling or cooking isn’t in your skill set, a food court on site hosts on average five food truck vendors daily. A covered dining area with plenty of room to park your ride is provided to sit and enjoy your meal. Each food vendor is unique in their own way, with a few even serving breakfast, which I highly recommend! With so many options for food, you’ll find something for everyone in your party. I personally enjoyed some of the best authentic Mexican food I think I’ve ever had from one of their vendors. And when that sweet tooth craving happens, you’re in luck. An ice cream vendor is on site for what seems like all day and all night.
Surrounding the food trucks are several other vendors, ranging from clothing and accessories, sunglasses and some with aftermarket parts in stock. MidAmerica Outdoors’ new powersports trailer is always on site stocked up with belts, tires, wheels, axles and an array of other parts that can be a weekend saver when you break down. MAO stands ready to assist the unfortunate trail rider or racer that needs a quick fix to get back in competition.
Past vendor row, you’ll find yourself underneath a colossal pavilion. Here, you can grab a cold refreshing beverage, play a game of ring toss, or even a game of cornhole with some friends while you cool off under the main bar area. While there is one main bar, there is also a portable bar that relocates to the heart of the event action, wherever it may be taking place. Not only does the bar move, but the DJ goes with! So no matter where you’re at in the park, beverages and tunes won’t be far away. Live music performances located in the stage areas occur on Friday and Saturday nights on most event weekends.
MAO celebrates their two year anniversary of opening this upcoming Labor Day. Having taken great strides to become one of the most accommodating off-road parks in the country, they are currently only open to guests during event weekends, but there is no shortage of events at the park. Some of the events include Pro Rock Racing, Outlaw Off-Road racing and more from the National Rock Racing Association, along with many other big name racing series. MAO additionally features their very own short track racing series, with classes for all ages and skill levels.
