No Room? No Problem.

Ever worry about not having enough space for storing all of your belongings? It’s a common issue that pretty much everybody runs into on a regular basis, especially at home. Do we have enough room in the garage for all our stuff? How many things can I throw into the backyard or the side of the house? How many vehicles can we fit on our property? (An even bigger question if you’re living in an urban area.) We’re always looking to see not only if we have enough room, but what is the best way to utilize the room that we do have? Assault Trailers has come up with a proactive solution to help this common issue with the introduction of their new Tactical Hauler Folding Trailer.
My first thoughts about the trailer are that it seems like a pretty cool and convenient idea, but how practical can it be? While the tongue and brackets are made from steel and powder-coated black to prevent corrosion, the construction is made up primarily of aircraft-grade aluminum. This makes the Tactical Hauler lightweight at just 800 lbs unloaded, and is easy to fold and stow whenever you need some extra room. Wait a minute… Did you say, “just 800 lbs!?” That’s right. 800 lbs does seem like a lot to man handle. However, with nothing more than a few basic tools and the help of an extra set of hands, the Tactical Hauler can be folded into standing position with ease.
What may seem like a fairly difficult process is made easy with clear instruction and a folding procedure video seen here. One of the features that help fold the Tactical Hauler is the Dual Dog-Leg supports. These are used to prevent the rear of the trailer from moving while the front half is being raised. If not for this, the trailer would return to its flat position. Another accommodating feature is the folding tongue. There are three pins that hold the tongue in its secure towing position, but when pulled out, you are able to fold the tongue down into the trailer. This keeps the trailer’s parts together and as compact as possible.
To help maintain mobility while storing the Tactical Hauler, the tires stay positioned on the ground. The LED lighting features a wiring harness with a quick disconnect making it easy to safely detach before folding the trailer. Completely folded and with railing height in consideration, the trailer sits around 7ft. 2in. Tall, 8.4ft. Wide, and just 4.5ft. Deep—meaning once it’s folded, it can fit into even a single car garage without taking up ALL the room.
Being able to fold and stow your trailer in a garage or storage unit not only keeps it off your open property where it is open to vandalism or theft but it also helps you to maximize your space. Normally, the trailer sitting flat and ready to tow measures 18 feet long and 8.4 feet wide, with a bed that’s 13 feet long and 78 inches wide; taking up significantly more room. The trailer can hold a maximum capacity of 3,000 lbs and offers 14 inches of ground clearance at the axle—making it absolutely capable of fitting and towing most UTVs. Assault Trailers offers a selection of wheel upgrades, accessories, and a variety of colors to powder coat your trailer so you can even customize it to match your rides!
