2021 Genesis Supreme Vortex Platinum B3416GSTS Toy Hauler

When I think of luxurious camping, my mind goes right to an air mattress in the back of my 4Runner. It’s been quite the upgrade over the chore that is setting up and sleeping in tents, but Elizabeth (my girlfriend) and I have definitely been talking about something a little more comfortable for multi-day work runs on the road… The EFX Tires Trail Hero SXS Rally is one of our longest trips of the year at 7 days long, and thankfully RV World Of Yuma hooked us up with a true home on wheels in the form of a 2021 Genesis Supreme Vortex Platinum Toy Hauler.
At 37 ft 3 in long with a dry weight of 12270 lbs, the model B3416GSTS toy hauler is a bit larger than our idea of an upgrade for work on the road and more in line with something that we could live out of full time. Some of my co-workers would argue against the idea of living out of an RV trailer, but with something as nice as this, I think it’d be more than comfortable. At least for a young couple with not a lot of stuff. Obviously this is no 3-bedroom house, but the storage space offered by the Vortex Platinum was enough for three of us to live and work out of comfortably for 7 days without feeling cluttered. There are overhead cabinets down both sides of the interior, a good amount of kitchen storage, a cavernous gear storage compartment that runs the full width of the trailer underneath, and each of the dual slide-outs in the master bedroom up front are equipped with a wardrobe, drawers, and counter space on top.
In most RV trailers or motorhomes that I’ve experienced in the past, the bed that comes equipped in the bedroom would turn out to be something I’d immediately replace. That was not the case here though. Coming with a king size memory foam mattress, I got better sleep there than I do at home. While I was sad to return to my own bed, returning to my own full size shower and normal toilet was a joy. The bathroom in the Vortex is actually quite roomy and offers a fair amount of storage, especially for anything less than full time living, but there’s something to be said about residential water pressure. In the kitchen, the large double door refrigerator offers 8 cu ft of space which was more than enough to swallow and chill our leftover Lonny Boys BBQ plus a 24 pack of Coke Zero with room for a lot more. We didn’t have much time to utilize the 3 burner cooktop and stove, but it would be awesome to fry up some bacon and eggs before a crisp morning ride.
The living space features a fold down couch that turns into a bed in the huge slide out on one side, and two captains chairs on the other side that sit around a removable table. In the rear of the trailer, the lower of the two electric drop-down beds flips up into two couches that face in towards another removable dinner-style table. It was the perfect place for us to set up our computers, hard drives, and work for the week. The bed above the two couches lowers down enough to be accessible via a ladder, and had a ceiling-to-floor blackout curtain to give the occupants as much privacy as possible in such an open trailer.
While there’s enough real estate for 5-6 people to sleep comfortably in the main living space of the trailer, all of that folds up or tucks away to provide 16 feet of garage space, enough room to store even a Can-Am Maverick X3 Max. Our Kawasaki Teryx KRX 1000 obviously fit no problem, and was tied down and secured easily with the in-floor tie down points. We were lucky enough to have a Ford F350 dually to tow this beast of a trailer with, and the trailer was as solid and steady as it gets while having two axles rolling on Raceline wheels and seriously heavy duty 14 ply tires.
At the end of the week, the Genesis Supreme Vortex Platinum Toy Hauler truly was a joy to live and work out of for a week. The layout provides an open and comfortable living space for multiple people without having to rub shoulders the whole time, and the impressive suite of features takes the work out of trailer living. You can fire up the Cummins generator from the kitchen or the master bedroom, and it’ll run for a couple of days straight pulling off the 40 gallon gas tank that also feeds the exterior fueling station. Set up is made super easy with the self-leveling hydraulic jack system, and a bluetooth stereo blasts your choice of entertainment through selectable interior and exterior speakers. All of this adds up to create a top of the line luxury camping experience, you just can’t forget the purpose of the adventure is to get outside and ride!
