Race Schedule and Entry Fee Updates
Jagged X National Desert Cup
Presented By Quantum Motorsports
Please note Best In The Desert has posted a revised race schedule for the upcoming Jagged X National Desert Cup Presented By Quantum Motorsports. The new schedule provides for significantly more track time and racing in each class. The premier UTV Turbo Pro and Unlimited classes will race approx. one hour and 45 minutes to 2 hours each day; almost four full hours of racing over the two days. All the other classes, except for Youth and Short Course, will experience similar durations. In addition, the new race schedule groups each race according to class. Each class will be racing against its full class each day. The new schedule and starting order can be viewed on the BITD website.
After touring the Glen Helen facility this past Saturday, Best In The Desert Race Operations Manager Jeff Phillips had this to say, “As for the racecourse itself, racers should come prepared to compete on an extremely challenging racecourse. The off-road sections are rough and technical—a true off-road test. We’ve listened to feedback on the original schedule and have found a way to give the racers what they want. While not covering the same miles as planned for Laughlin due to Glen Helen’s terrain and technical nature, this new schedule provides similar track time and race lengths to what we originally planned for Laughlin.”
In addition to the revised race schedule, Best In The Desert has also dropped entry fees by approx. 25% across the board to help off-set camping and gate fee costs for the event. For example, UTV Turbo Pro/Unlimited has been reduced by $200.00. For a complete list of the new entry fee costs visit the Jagged X National Desert Cup registration link. Refunds will be given to existing entries based on the new fee schedule.
Best In the Desert CMO Bryan Folks said this about the new fees, “We realize the event we are providing at Glen Helen is significantly different from the event we originally intended. To be very clear, racing at Laughlin in September was not going to be allowed by Clark County, NV, due to COVID-19 restrictions. Our only option was to move the event to Glen Helen. We are doing everything in our power to put on an event quite different from any UTV event ever held at Glen Helen. We are confident the racing community will agree. In the meantime, we value our racers and want to be as fair as possible.”
In addition to two full days of racing for the full-size UTVs, Best In The Desert is hosting a unique Taco Fest, Racer Appreciation, and After Race Bench Racing Party on Saturday night. We look forward to seeing everyone there. Entries are still open for the Jagged X National Desert Cup Presented by Quantum Motorsports. Visit bitd.com for more information.
