APRIL 7, 2022 – TAFT, CA – Amplex Racing’s 15 year old Ryan Prosser scored his first win of the WORCS 2022 season in the SXS 1000 Production Turbo Class at Honolulu Hills Raceway in Taft, CA. Prosser the Servite High School Freshman was driving the Amplex Racing Polaris RZR XP 1000 Turbo.
Prosser came out of the start fourth, quickly used the track’s big jumps to his advantage to move to second on the first lap and then set his sights on the leader.
Utilizing the superior grip of his GBC tires, Prosser set up a pass going into one of the straightaways and took the lead for good. It marked his first victory of the season, after finishing second in the previous round at Lake Havasu.
“I just kept following his line, getting closer and closer,” said Prosser. “We came out of a corner onto a straightaway and my car is faster, so I let it rip and got the lead. The step-up is a really fun jump, and I love this track.”
This venue is known for its rough, and high-speed nature, but it’s also notoriously tough on tires.
“I run GBC 30-inch Terra Masters,” said Prosser. “They pulled great throughout the mud and the soft stuff out there. We had no flats and we have no need for flat protection, so thank you to GBC and KMC wheels.”
The victory moved Prosser to third in points. Though he had difficulties in the first two rounds, Prosser is poised to make a run at the title.
“We had some issues early in the season, but we had them all worked out by Havasu and this shows real forward progress,” said Prosser. “We’re trying to catch the points leader and we’ll see how it works out at the end of the season.”
Prosser will be back in action when he debuts his Trophy Truck in the Silver State Best in the Desert Race on April 30TH in Alamo, NV. He will return to the WORCS racing the next day on May 1st when the series heads to Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, NV.
