The 2nd Annual Trail Hero SXS Rally kicked off today with beautiful Sand Hollow, UT, as the backdrop, bringing UTVs together with the full chassis side. Trail Hero and Trail Hero SXS Rally have become the melting pot for all things off-road. As vendors began setting up, the day’s charity golf tournament got underway. Familiar names took to the green. Everyone’s Favorite RedNek, Hubert Rowland, and RZR Life, David Uptain, were among the new entries this year but paired with the seasoned golfer vets from EFX Tire. A fateful match to surely increase the winning odds. All were disappointed, however, when Sand Hollow Resort staff told them UTVs were not allowed on the golf course. Still, the tourney went on.
Let’s be honest, you are not here to read about golf. Chomping at the bit, the guys from Dune and Destroy and PRP ripped into the sand where they are most comfortable. The trail of cars ran up and down the dunes occasionally stopping to laugh about what happened in that section. The laughs were endless, and there went competition of who could jump further or carve higher. Kyle from Dune and Destroy in his brand new Polaris RS1 was bound and determined to show everyone the capability of the little naturally aspirated UTV. Sending it further, landing harder, and carving hard, he, along with the others, put on a show.
As late evening approached, helmets and steering wheels were put away (to be worked on later) and traded for flip flops and appetites. Everyone was ready to relax, talk about the day, and socialize at the Trail Hero Kick-Off Party. The who’s who of off-road who were present were found talking about years gone by and trails yet to occur. RJ Anderson, Sara Price, and a host of others representing the UTV community mixed it up with legends from the jeeping world, all here to enjoy the beautiful sites Sand Hollow State Park has to offer as well as the endless maze of trails. It’s not far off to say the first day of any event sets the tone for the remaining days of the event. If history repeats itself, the 2nd Annual Trail Hero SXS Rally is set for a damn good time with some amazing people.
