When it comes to the most common UTV modifications, wheels are high on the list, if not at the top. There can be some performance concerns such as weight, strength, or having a bead lock. The other big reason comes down to looks. A proper set of wheels can make your ride appear a whole lot better with little effort, really setting it apart from other UTVs out there.
With Moose Utility Division’s 416 X Wheel, you get a good balance between wheel weight and load capacity, as well as the quality one can expect from Moose products. With a starting price of $131.95, it’s a relatively affordable option for an upgrade. Whether you want to save a few dollars to spend on other components for your rig. Or it’s an entry point to customizing your UTV. The 416 Xs are a sound choice.
These wheels look like they were built for the apocalypse. Coming in either a black, silver, or bronze finish, there are attractive selections which will suit many palettes. The only drawback, in my opinion, is the lack of different colored center caps with the wheel. Moose provides only black caps for any of the color combinations, and on something like the bronze wheel, having a black cap somewhat detracts from the overall finish. But it’s an easy fix, if it’s even enough of a dealbreaker to notice in the first place.
The 416 X provides plenty of capacity for whatever purpose your SXS fills, with a load capacity of 675 pounds in the 12×7 size and up to 1,300 pounds in the 14×8 size. The overall design suggests some ruggedness and is sure to look good covered in mud, sand, or dust – perfect for a UTV that doesn’t sit dormant in the garage. With Moose’s reputation for excellence, these wheels are sure to have some longevity and take any beating you can dole.
To add some useful flair to the interior, Moose is also offering a fresh set of replacement door handles for Can-Am vehicles. This Billet Door Handle X3 replaces the door strap which comes from the factory, providing a tougher grip and a better look for your interior. Coming in a classic, brushed metal finish, they stand out handsomely against the doors and almost look like something out of a fighter jet.
The mounting hardware included, installation is relatively simple for these handles and removing the factory door strap really elevates Can-Am’s X3. With a thick handle at the top with the Moose branding set against the black and silver of the shaft, it has a nice feel to it that you just don’t find from the run-of-the-mill door straps, an addition that could almost pass as OEM. As well as removing the flimsy door straps and improving the aesthetics, the metal handle creates a solid grip to hold so opening and closing the doors is quite a bit more confidence-inspiring. These handles retail for $99.95 and are a great addition to the interior of any Can-Am models they fit.
Both of these additions lend themselves well to an OEM+ setup, where the emphasis is on effective, intuitive, high-quality parts where they count the most. A dignified set of wheels can make any vehicle look a whole like a million bucks, while quality materials on parts you are handling a lot in the interior add an upscale feel to your ride. With a keen focus on fit and finish, you can make something truly special without putting too much time or money into the build thanks to Moose Utility Division.
