MWhips Keep You Up All Night
And The High Cost of Riding in Low Light

Light whips are a wildly popular addition to the average UTV, and with good reason. Something that adds both style and real safety benefits at a relatively low entry cost is a no-brainer if you are checking off a to-do list of modifications. This is doubly important on something for your kids, like an RZR 200, a model tailored to Little Rippers. Riding at night can not only be incredibly fun and offer rewarding alternate perspective of the landscape, but also make trails you are already familiar with feel completely different in their own way.
With a variety of light whips on the market, you can get as budget friendly or as fancy as you want. The example we have on this RZR 200 is made of carbon fiber and represents something on the higher end of the spectrum. Really, if it does its job of providing visibility and identifying some character in the dark, you can’t go wrong as far as what you pick.
With the example on this RZR from MWhips, there’s a bit more of the “fancy” in the unit, while still being perfectly functional. MWhips focus seems to be on providing custom options for those looking at adding light whips, with benefits such as custom materials and lengths for a whip.
What sets MWhips apart is the fact that it is made of carbon which can save some weight, but with something already as light as a whip it won’t be anything world-shattering in terms of performance. It does, however, do exactly what a light whip should do, and adds a bit of extra flair with the carbon base and a healthy glow of light.
Compared to the 5150 Whip we have on the Taco General, they do the same job in terms of the light provided from the Whip with various aesthetic differences. Both are 2” models, so they provide a great comparison point, with the 5150 light whip on the Taco as a much more typical fiberglass construction.
It tends to come down to stylistic choices and what is most important to you, but, they will both do the same job of keeping you safe for night rides. With so many great options and a wide gamut of materials and customization available in the sector, it’s important to stay focused on the task at hand- safety.
