When looking for useful additions to your UTV, a good set of visors is certainly a high scoring option on the cost/benefit analysis. Providing a seriously helpful addition in cabin comfort and visibility out of the cab, as well as having a (typically) easy installation process makes visors a common and useful addition.
While not something that might jump out to oneself when thinking of what they want to do or change about their vehicle, sun visors are really one of those additions that is felt more than it is seen. Especially with something you are going to be moving around and expect to take a good beating, it’s important to have something built for that specific task.
Pro Armor’s offering in the market of tinted visors is a very solid contender. With a quality feel of aluminum construction and clamps, they add a nice upmarket feel to something you are likely going to be touching and adjusting plenty. In addition to having a great feel, these visors provide a nice level of tint, letting you really cut through some glare and reduce some strain on your eyes.
Adding a comfortably sized 12” of tinted glass on a hinge that can be used at your will sounds like a simple and arguably small contribution to your driving enjoyment. However, who doesn’t love the little things? Sometimes those very small additions can completely make a vehicle worthwhile.
It’s no secret that I personally like to have a functionally comfortable interior in anything I’m spending more than about 20 minutes in. Having nice, small touches like solid sun visors is exactly the kind of thing I love to see in a car. Something well thought out and designed, with its purpose fulfilled, is a complete joy to have.
Getting yourself a better view out of the cab can add a lot of enjoyment to your ride: Not straining as much trying to peer through glare and adding some additional comfort and utility for the interior of your UTV. For such a simple addition, the Pro Armor visors really add a nice level of fit and finish to the interior of the cabin and provide some serious utility for driving at dawn or dusk.
The finish on the glass for these Pro Armor visors also provide a nice premium touch, with a surface that feels high quality and durable, certainly built to take a beating from whatever projectiles that may hit the visor. The long-term durability with this addition to the glass adds some peace of mind that this set of visors is ready for the long haul and will look good for a long time to come.
In addition to a durable coating, the actual tinting on the Pro Armor visors strikes a happy medium between too dark and not dark enough, something that I often find myself frustrated with on glass meant to block harsh lighting. Having a nice level of darkness, where you can still easily discern what you are seeing without having harsh lighting over the view really adds a great deal to the driving experience.
And with a durable set of stainless-steel hardware provided with each kit, the mounting of this visor also feels and looks like something built to last. With solid construction of the clamps paired with the quality hardware provided, the overall fit and finish is rock solid and ready to go.
With such a solid overall feel, the actual process of articulating the joints on the visor is also nice and snug. There’s little worry about the visors shifting out of the desired position. It makes the Pro Armor visors feel like quite the addition when you can quickly flip them down or stow them up against the cage and have total confidence that they will stay there.
If you are anything like me and have an affinity for old, well-worn cars, you are intimately familiar with sun visors that do what they choose to at the most inconvenient of times. There is no such concern with these visors. Pro Armor’s tension bolts ensure this will remain the case for however long you have the visors.
Having the ability to quickly stow and deploy such a helpful feature as Pro Armor’s visors will make you wonder why equipment like this isn’t yet standard on most UTVs. Our Taco UTV Polaris General build is well suited to the task of cooking up some food on the trail and Pro Armor’s visors give you the visibility you need to get there no matter what lighting conditions you face. With a clear sightline, this UTV is now able to provide some more visibility while taking some tacos to hard-to-reach places.
