In almost every category I can think of, sport UTVs excel as the ultimate adventure vehicles. Sure, high capacity storage space takes a backseat to the sporty and aggressive looks, and you do give up some creature comforts in trade for the maximum in capability. It doesn’t take long for the aftermarket to pick up the slack and find ingenious ways to fulfill the wants and needs of everyday riders though, and PRP Seats is one of the best at doing just that.
Obviously as the name suggests, PRP Seats makes fantastic aftermarket seats that very easily add comfort and style to whatever you put them in… You can also order custom seats, some of which I’ve seen have questionable style but still add comfort nonetheless, and they supply some of the fastest off-road racers with the safety equipment that saves countless lives. But—there must also be a team of strange OCD people that just sit and look at new machines with the desire to store as much stuff as possible in places that were not designed to hold anything, and a result of that is the full suit of PRP storage bags we have here, designed specifically for the new Kawasaki Teryx KRX 1000.
We found the KRX 1000 to be a great adventure rig after beating on it for three hundred miles over the course of three days (read about that here), so much so that we’ve decided to turn it into our own ultimate adventure rig. With multi-day rides through varying terrains and climates being on our radar, the need to store extra gloves, jackets, goggles or rags, plus other miscellaneous accessories in accessible places was a top priority for us. The pair of Firewall Bags are big enough to be used as luggage if they were easily removable, but they fasten securely to the firewall with newly supplied hardware and easily swallow up small tool bags and bulky heavyweight jackets.
The Overhead Bags are perfect for storing our extra visor-cleaning rags in a clean and easy to access place, plus extra gloves and other small items like cell phones, glasses, and wallets stay dry in a high up and secure space. Combine all of that with the Truss Bags, and you have additional places to store extra tools, fluids, and whatever else you don’t want bouncing around in a spot that would have otherwise never been utilized. You never know what issues you might face on a multi day ride, so having those spare fluids, spare parts, and the tools to work on your ride is an important part of the preparation to not end up stranded in BFE.
We even added on the sweet cushy Knee Pads that keep your knees from bouncing off the hard edges of the center console when bouncing through rough terrain. They don’t add any storage, but the comfort is well worth the extra cost. All of PRP’s storage solutions are constructed from water resistant marine-grade vinyl that we know will take a beating, and new quiet rubberized zippers. We’re looking forward to dragging these bags through the dirt much more in the future, and if you need extra storage for your ride be sure to check out PRPSeats.com!
