Purchasing new wheels and tires is an easy, and for the most part, cost-effective way to add some style, strength, and performance to any UTV. For quite some time, the market has been cornered by only a few brands that can make a great product. Seeing the same wheels on every other UTV started to get a little stagnant. Icon Vehicle Dynamics saw an opportunity to get into the market with a fresh perspective. With years of engineering and building aftermarket suspension components, they knew the stress and forces a wheel takes.
The Icon UTV-SPEC Compression wheels mated perfectly with our 32″ GBC tires. The true grade 10.9 beadlock hardware was a nice touch, and everything torqued down very well. Once mounted on our 2020 Kawasaki KRX 1000, we handed it over to Jason and Josh Cobb. Two drivers that we knew could find all the rocks in the desert at a high rate of speed. This would be a solid strength test for Icon.
After almost 100 miles of pure abuse on very rough terrain, the wheels still looked brand new with no noticeable signs of impact. The titanium color coating held up flawlessly to the sandblasting and rocks.
We then bolted them onto our 2020 Polaris RZR XP Pro 4. Again, we run these cars pretty hard in some nasty, rocky conditions. Another couple hundred miles of abuse and they clean up like new. The lightweight design keeps unsprung weight down while the valve stem is nicely tucked away so it doesn’t get ripped off.
Overall, we are quite happy with the looks and durability of the Icon Compression wheel and are very happy to see consumers get another great wheel option to choose from. Find more info at iconvehicledynamics.com.
