We All Had A Feeling The Polaris ACE Single Seat Vehicle Was Going To Get An Engine Upgrade
We all had a feeling the Polaris ACE single seat vehicle was going to get an engine upgrade after it was released, receiving one engine upgrade already in 2015. Many people were asking, “When will it get the ProStar 1000 engine?” As of this time, we’ll still have to wait for that engine to make it into the ACE platform. However, for 2016, Polaris did dump the ProStar 900 engine into the ACE, making this little single-seater come alive!
We’ve always had an affinity for the ACE since we first drove it at the Polaris introduction near Marble Falls, Texas. It was a hoot to drive, providing fun times, gobs of power, and a full array of comfort that led us to believe this was a RZR platform stable-mate. Polaris is careful to point out that this ACE is a crossover between a quad and a RZR side-x-side, but we really enjoy it either way.
One of the best driver-centric attributes about this machine is the driver sits in the middle of the vehicle for optimum weight bias. Driving an ACE is literally a hoot! You can drift it into corners and really have fun throwing it around, and we can imagine that this fun is only amplified with the new ProStar 900 engine (complete with 60 horsepower in a vehicle that weighs only 966 pounds dry)!
This new 900 also comes with power steering, making it much easier to drive on all-day adventures. Completing that comfort is an independent dual A-arm rear suspension and McPherson Strut front suspension, which both work together to provide optimum comfort regardless of the terrain you are tackling.
One of the best features of the ACE has to be the superior amount of storage capacity. You get fully enclosed front storage, which is perfect for any of your items that you want close by, but want protected. Also, just like the RZR lineup, you have a bed storage area where you can put larger items.
The Polaris ACE 900 SP is definitely a great machine.
