Red Bull Sand Scramble Returns to the Glamis Dunes on Dec 10th

Professional and Recreational Racers to Compete at the Iconic Glamis Imperial Dunes

WHAT:

Red Bull Sand Scramble, an original UTV race featuring unique course elements and thrilling competition, will return to Glamis on Saturday, December 10th. After a successful debut last year, Red Bull Sand Scramble returns to the dunes with another custom-built 2.8-mile off-road course. The bespoke course plays into the natural sandscape and winds through the bowls of the Imperial Dunes in Southern California, providing an epic single-day event for recreational and professional racers alike to celebrate the passion of off-road racing. To meet the inaugural year’s rider interest and demand, up to 150 racers can enter the field to race.

While the Red Bull Sand Scramble race format remains the same, with racers completing up to three laps during the race, one thing for certain is the 2.8-mile racecourse will not be the same as 2021. The natural habitat of the dunes guarantees an ever-changing field and fresh course with new ridges, obstacles and technicalities. WHO:

Amateur and professional racers, off-road fanatics and fans are invited to the dunes for an action-packed day of racing. Two competitive race classes are offered with the SXS Pro class for more experienced racers and SXS Sportsman class for amateur off-road enthusiasts. Podium finishers will be awarded a series of prizes including a $5,000 Polaris voucher, BFGoodrich Tires voucher, KMC Wheels wheel set and a Wolverine boots voucher. Last year, Red Bull Off-Road Junior Team member Mitch Guthrie Jr. won the Pro category, while Jaxon Steele took home the top honors in the Sportsman class.

Top industry pro’s in attendance will include Mia Chapman and Red Bull Off-Road Junior Team members Seth Quintero, and 2021 Red Bull Sand Scramble Pro Class winner Mitch Guthrie Jr.

“I am really excited for Red Bull Sand Scramble coming up,” said Guthrie Jr. “The Red Bull Sand Scramble is a race I look forward to. It’s awesome being out in Glamis where we grew up riding, playing and having fun. And being able to race there now, it’s huge.”

“And getting the win at the first one last year, that was amazing,” he continues. “So now we have to go back there and back it up. The competition that comes to the dunes is crazy. The pace, everything, is insane and overall really looking forward to this race. It’s one of the best ones out of the year to go to.”
